Return-to-sport care with a clear finish line
Getting an athlete out of pain is only half the job; the other half is making sure the body is ready for the speed, cutting, and contact that come next. BD Physical Therapy, in Randolph since 2013, treats sports injuries and pediatric sports injuries with that full arc in mind. Our physical therapists include Doctors of Physical Therapy, and each athlete starts with a one-on-one evaluation of the injury and the movements their sport demands.
Concussions get the same careful treatment. Our clinicians are trained in vestibular and concussion management, so post-concussion therapy can address dizziness, balance, and a gradual return to exertion. Dancers benefit from our dance medicine program, which respects the flexibility and control their art requires. Whatever the sport, the last stage of care is a home program that keeps the athlete strong after discharge.

04 Local life
Built for Westwood athletes and explorers
Hale, the nonprofit outdoor education organization headquartered on Carby Street, manages more than 1,100 acres in Westwood and Dover, with about 20 miles of trails and four ponds. Those trails reward strong ankles, knees, and lungs. Westwood is also home to Xaverian Brothers High School, a Catholic college-preparatory school for boys in grades 7 through 12. Between trail days and school seasons, families here need rehab that gets young bodies back to full speed safely.

How far is BD Physical Therapy from Westwood?
The office is about 15 miles from Westwood center by car, which takes about 23 minutes in light traffic. Route 109, I-95/Route 128, I-93, and Route 24 make up most of the trip. Weekday hours run until 8:00 PM, so sessions can fit after school or practice.
My teenager was hurt playing a school sport. Do you treat young athletes?
Yes. Pediatric sports injuries are one of our specialties. The therapist evaluates the injury and how your teen moves, then builds a plan that progresses from pain relief to strength, sport-specific drills, and return to play. Parents are kept informed at each stage, and we coordinate with the athlete's physician when needed.
How does post-concussion therapy work?
After a physician has evaluated the concussion, therapy addresses lingering symptoms such as dizziness, balance problems, and trouble tolerating activity. Treatment may include vestibular exercises, balance training, and a stepwise return to exertion, with symptoms checked at every stage. The pace is set by how the athlete responds, not by the calendar.
Can I get a quick appointment for a fresh sprain?
When they are available, we hold a small number of same-day and next-day slots for new and urgent visits. Call (781) 961-4461 and we will try to squeeze you in. Starting care early helps you understand what you can safely do while the injury settles.
