Therapy that follows you from first visit to full function
BD Physical Therapy has been part of the Randolph community since 2013, and our physical therapists include Doctors of Physical Therapy. Your first visit is a one-on-one evaluation of strength, flexibility, balance, and the everyday tasks that have become difficult. We then set goals in plain language, such as walking a mile without stopping or lifting a box at work without pain, and build each session toward them. Those goals are revisited as you improve, so the plan keeps pace with you.
Our care moves through four steps. Evaluate pins down what is limiting you. Restore uses manual therapy and modalities to reduce pain and improve motion. Strengthen adds therapeutic exercise, balance, and stability work. Return equips you with a home program so you can keep improving on your own. For people with neurological conditions, clinicians bring neurorehab training, including the LSVT BIG program for Parkinson's disease.

04 Local life
Moving well around Norwood
Ellis Pond, a 17-acre town conservation area, has a shoreline perimeter of about 1.1 miles and draws people for walking, fishing, and small-boat paddling. A loop like that is a practical benchmark for someone rebuilding endurance after surgery or illness. In summer, the Carillon Concerts on the Common bring neighbors out on Monday evenings to hear the 50-bell carillon in the tower of the Memorial Municipal Building, and standing comfortably through an hour of music is a goal worth working toward too.

How long is the drive from Norwood to BD Physical Therapy?
Allow about 23 minutes for the roughly 13-mile drive in light traffic, more at rush hour. The trip runs on Route 1A or East Street, I-95/Route 128, I-93, and Route 24, then Route 139 into Randolph. Our address is 63 South Main Street, Suite B.
I want to walk around Ellis Pond again after my hip surgery. Is that a reasonable goal?
It is the kind of concrete goal we like to plan around. Your therapist will build up walking tolerance step by step, work on hip strength and balance, and practice the uneven ground you will meet on the path. Progress depends on your surgery and your healing, so the timeline is set together and adjusted as you go.
What is the LSVT BIG program?
LSVT BIG is a standardized exercise program for people with Parkinson's disease. It focuses on large, deliberate movements to help counter the smaller, slower movement patterns the condition can cause. Sessions are intensive and practice-based, and you leave with daily exercises to keep the work going at home. Call to ask whether it fits your situation.
Can physical therapy prepare me to go back to a physical job?
Yes. Work conditioning rebuilds the strength, endurance, and body mechanics your job requires, whether that means lifting, carrying, climbing ladders, or standing for long shifts. Your therapist simulates those tasks in a controlled way and increases the challenge as you improve.
