There are 28 bones in the foot and ankle. These bones help with stability and mobility. They also help absorb forces and bear the weight of the body when standing, walking or running.
Foot and ankle injuries include ankle sprains/strains, fallen arches, tendonitis, Plantar Fasciitis, shin splints and Restless Leg Syndrome.
Physical therapy Intervention for foot and ankle pain may focus on joint mobilization, ultrasound, strengthening and stretching muscles and tendons, and/or supportive orthotics.
